WHAT IS TEAM BEST BUDDIES?
Team Best Buddies is an exciting and fun charity event that supports the programs and services of Best Buddies Illinois, and at the same time raises fundamental awareness of our vital friendship, integrated employment, and leadership programs.

The Chicago Marathon is known for its fast, flat course. Elite athletes and amateurs alike annually target the race for its potential to generate personal, national, and world records. In addition to its speed, the course offers a scenic tour of Chicago as it weaves through 29 diverse neighborhoods and dozens of local and historical landmarks. As a member of Team Best Buddies, you are guaranteed to see all that is great about the city of Chicago – all while helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies programs engage participants in every state and in 50 countries around the world.

People with disabilities are often excluded from society because of their differences. Best Buddies has created a spirit of public service for middle school, high school and college volunteers that will last a lifetime. *Best Buddies Illinois will request all participants to raise a minimum of $750 if they receive a post-close entry.
